Adventurer. Warrior. 'Iron Valkyrie'.
Shuna's Full BackstoryBorn amongst her Clan in the Skatay Range, the Viera that would eventually be known as Shuna Luna led a good and happy life in her younger years. As the middle child of three, she escaped the expectations forced on her elder sister and missed out on the overly-fussy care showered upon their younger sibling by the trio’s mother and her sisters within the Clan. While some children dislike being the 'middle child', Shuna reveled in it due to the fact that it left her free to dote on her littlest sibling in her own way while drinking in the lessons of her elder sister. That tender childhood Shuna had enjoyed crashed to an abrupt halt on the day of Shuna’s coming-of-age ceremony, when her elder Sister vanished with only a note stating she had fled the lush mountain ravine and snowy foothills of their home village. With all signs pointing to the idea that her sister had simply chosen a crude way of leaving the village as some of their kind did, Shuna and the rest of the Clan mourned but ultimately had attempted to move on with their lives. Unfortunately fate wasn’t done with them quite yet.The spiral of bad fortune continued as Shuna found herself pressed now to fill the role that her elder Sister once had as presumptive future-Matriarch. In keeping with the Clan’s traditional right of passage, as her Grandmother once had and her Mother currently did, Shuna was expected to someday step into her role as the Clan’s effective ‘Leader’. Long days and nights of training, both martial and otherwise, bled into long months… and then long years. A sliver of joy returned to their family when her youngest sibling continued to age, growing into a beautiful young woman full of life and curiosity. At her coming of age ceremony though, disaster struck the Clan once more.Like many Clans in the Skatay Range, they had long engaged in sparse skirmishes with patrols of the Garlean Empire. What the Clan did not expect was the sudden arrival of a Garlean detachment en-masse to their hidden mountain valley, somehow slipping past the numerous male Watchers in the hills and woods around and below. The fighting was fierce enough with the Warrior-Maidens of the Clan and despite the advantage of the element of surprise, the Garleans were not expecting the Watchers to have been alerted and massed to counter.Caught on the flank and outnumbered, the ‘technologically superior’ force was thoroughly smashed. Unfortunately the commander of the Garlean forces escaped in the chaos, and Shuna was dispatched with a pair of Huntresses' to track them down and return them to the village, Alive, to face the Clan’s justice. The unforeseen events that followed not only led to the explanation of how the Garleans had snuck into the Valley, but brought the return of a familiar face Shuna hadn’t expected… and a duel that would end in tragedy for her. Mentally broken and tired, the young Viera had fled without another word, closing the proverbial book on that segment of her life.In the next chapter of her life, Shuna's path took her to the Azim Steppe. Though her stay there was at first completely by accident, it quickly became both a second home and a balm to her wounded soul. Shortly after arrival she stumbled across a small Xaela tribe, the Khori, and accidentally beat two of their Warriors when conflict arose out of misunderstanding about the Ritual she had interrupted. Shuna will swear even to this day many years later that she only won because they vastly underestimated her, but most members of her adoptive Xaela Clan will swear otherwise. Regardless, fate had smiled on her for once, as the Clan she had stumbled across had a rather... eccentric, Khagan. Rather than the execution or imprisonment that the Viera expected when surrounded by a dozen spear-wielding Xaela, Shuna was given a choice. They could expel her and bar her from the Steppe forever for interfering with one of their Sacred Rituals… or she would train with them and exchange the techniques of her Clan for the ways of the Steppe Warriors. The Khagan seemed to think any skills which could so easily best two of his Warriors with 'ease' were well worth the trade. Unsurprisingly, Shuna chose the latter and spent the next few years living on the Azim Steppe, slowly earning the respect of her 'new tribe' and even going on to become a fully 'blooded' Warrior of theirs. After leaving her ‘new family’ in the Steppe on positive and temporary terms (promising to return every chance she got), Shuna island-hoped her way across the world. Usually done via bartering passage of various ships, she saw stops in then-Imperial-occupied Doma, the Ruby Sea, Kugane, Dalmasca, Thavnair, and a few other small destinations. Eventually she ended up in Eorzea, landing in the wonderous port of Limsa Lominsa where she got her official start with the Adventurer's Guild. From there over the coming years she would travel between the various city-states, honing her skills and increasing her standing with both the natives and the Guild as a whole. It was also during her travels many years back that she would meet a man. A Viera, actually, which was curious enough to see outside of their forests. Curiosity turned to friendship. Friendship to courtship. And eventually, they wed in the traditions of the Eorzeans. But there was, alas, no happy ending here for Shuna. While she loved her husband fiercely and deeply... after seven years together, they parted ways. So recent was the event that she does not speak of it much, for it still cuts at her heart. All she will say to most that ask is that it was for the best, and they parted on good terms. Shuna in turn fell back to her tried-and-true pastime. Grinding out a living as an Adventurer. This has remained the root of her recent adventures in Eorzea. Along with the occasional Hunt Mark, Shuna spends most of her time on Quests as an Adventurer. While she is a skilled Blacksmith as well and likes to ply her trade in her off-time, her primary source of income is Adventuring. And given that she’s very skilled at fighting and always willing to help people, it’s been a very lucrative lifestyle for the Veena. After years of training, she's found herself able to take on most A-Rank and even S-Rank Quests and Hunts by herself or with her usual party. With time and commitment the Veena has become strong, and while not at the level of people like the Warriors of Light or the legendary Heroes sung of in myths, she is a very skilled hero.

RP / OOC Notes
- Player is 31+ so no content is an issue.
- Shuna is an Adventurer and can fit into most any setting. In-world pickup RP is fine if you see her out and about and are so inclined. Just shoot me a tell so I'm not accidentally tabbed out or something!
- Inspired heavily by Nordic themes and by Mandalorian culture. Yes, I'm a shameless nerd.
- Open to almost all themes. However I don't usually do anything super-cruel, super-dark, or seriously morally questionable in an OOC manner. (I.e. Rape, Child Murder, Etc)

RP Hooks- Sparring / Combat : Shuna is, in addition to being a seasoned Adventurer and Warrior... a bit of a Battle Junkie. She'll almost never turn down a good fight.
- Adventuring : A major part of her backstory is her longstanding tenure as an Adventure. Over time she's grown in renown and met many people. She also technically has her own Adventurer 'Team' known as 'White Rabbit'. If you're interested in having your character be a part of that, just let me know! Always looking for more people interested in Adventurer themed RP!
- Crafting (Smithing) : On the side and as 'additional income', Shuna has trained her Blacksmithing skill and traveled to many lands to hone her art. Always a welcome story lead-in!
- Homeland / Tribal / Viera : While Shuna left her tribe some time ago, she's always willing to strike up a conversation with other Viera about their previous homes, even if they're not members of her former tribe! This also applies to the Far East as a whole, especially anyone from the Azim Steppe that she may have known from her time there.
